Braintree, MA (April 13, 2012) – Saint Mary of the Assumption Parish in Brookline debuted its new bulletin with a picture of Rubens’ The Resurrection on the front cover with the message, “He is Risen!” The bulletin serves both Saint Mary Church in Brookline Village and Saint Lawrence Church in Chestnut Hill.
The bulletin included an Easter message from Fr. Brian Clary, pastor of Saint Mary, an announcement of an upcoming parish meet on the Archdiocese’s pastoral planning effort, announcements of many of the parish’s ministries, and a Sunday Funday page of children’s activities. “I was very impressed with Pilot Bulletins’ work when I saw the bulletin for Saint Cecilia Parish in Boston,” commented Father Clary. “I liked the new format options that are available to us with Pilot Bulletins. Susan Crapo, our business manager and bulletin editor, has been able to do wonderful things with this first edition. Pilot Bulletins’ ability to produce such a great piece, especially during Holy Week — a very busy time in the Church — is impressive.”
Father Clary mentioned that the fact that Pilot Bulletins was part of a related entity of the Archdiocese of Boston was a factor in selecting it. “I like to keep it local,” he explained. He also added that the standard inserts, such as the scripture readings and the puzzles are great extras.
“Saint Mary’s certainly selected a great time in the Church – Easter Sunday – to debut its new bulletin,” exclaimed Paul Blanchette, director of Pilot Bulletins. “Father Clary and Ms. Crapo were excited about the new features. The additional space and full-color pages will be both useful and eye catching for parishioners. Their first bulletin was beautiful.”
About Pilot Bulletins & Pilot Printing – Pilot Bulletins and Pilot Print began on September 9, 2010 when the Catholic Media Secretariat of the Archdiocese of Boston, acquired Parish Communications, a family owned bulletin provider out of Topsfield, MA. The addition of a parish bulletin and printing provider is part of Cardinal Seán’s vision of a comprehensive Media Secretariat, since bulletins are the most common way parishioners get information about the Church. Pilot Bulletins currently prints bulletins for more than 80 parishes in the region with several more in development. Pilot Printing is currently serving the printing needs of several hundred parishes, ministries and small businesses, saving these organizations tremendously over the cost of printing brochures, business cards, banners, posters and much more at for-profit print shops.
